The Quiet Hour

We had one condition for this shoot: no artificial light. Everything you see was made in the hour before sunset, in a courtyard off Zafar Ali Road that belongs to a friend of the studio and has been left more or less alone since 1974.

The collection was cut to that temperature — bone, cream, champagne — so the clothes and the hour would agree with each other. They mostly did. On the second evening it rained for eleven minutes and we kept shooting.

Six pieces went into the drop. We made between two and nine of each, which is what the studio can do properly in five weeks.
